C.M. MAYO’S BOOK NOTES & CONVOS, launching soon, is a refocused version of my original blog, Madam Mayo, which first appeared in 2006, and regularly so until mid-2022.
Look for twice (and maybe thrice) monthly posts on, as the title says, book notes and convos (conversations) with other writers. May you find the posts here thought-provoking and informative. I expect to be surprised, as I usually am, by what the Muse prompts me to post, but I venture that most of my writing here will address Mexico, Texas, rare books, and literary travel memoir.
I’m the author of several books in various genres including poetry, short fiction, historical fiction, and travel memoir (more about my works here). I’ve won many awards over the years but, as a native Texan, the most meaningful recognition to me was in 2017 when I was elected to the Texas Institute of Letters.
While I do not wrangle with a comments section here, please know that I do welcome readers’ comments at pugandbee ( at ) protonmail (dot) com or, if snail mail is your thing, 4007 McCullough Ave, #211, San Antonio TX 78212. 🍀
